Tracked excavator attachment carrying out forestry mulching

Serving Louth, Meath, Monaghan & North Dublin

Forestry mulching

Tracked-machine mulching cuts and breaks down dense scrub, brash and woody regrowth where the machine can work safely. Rather than producing large piles of loose vegetation, suitable material is processed across the working area. It is intended as a robust clearance method, not a fine lawn finish.

How the service works

Planning tracked forestry mulching

01

Machine access and ground conditions

Machine delivery access, slopes, soft ground, stones, wire, services and hidden debris must be identified.

02

Mulching scrub, brash and regrowth

  1. Inspect vegetation, terrain and delivery access
  2. Mark retained features and hidden-risk areas
  3. Agree the working boundary and direction
  4. Mulch suitable growth across the accessible area
03

The surface left after mulching

Suitable scrub and regrowth are reduced into a coarse surface layer, opening the area for inspection, maintenance or the next stage of land work.

Ground conditions and ecological constraints can affect whether and when tracked machinery should operate.

Useful details

Frequently asked questions

Is all material removed?

No. Mulching is designed to process suitable vegetation on site; removal can be discussed where separately required.

Can it work on uneven ground?

Tracked machinery may suit demanding terrain, but slopes, obstacles and ground stability must be inspected.

Is this the same as tree shearing?

No. Tree shearing cuts suitable stems; mulching processes suitable vegetation. A project may require one or both.
